Austin Film Fest

The Austin Film Fest honors Western cinema’s continued legacy while welcoming over 25,000 attendees each year for screenings, workshops, and live Q&As. The challenge was keeping the festival’s 15-year tradition alive while giving it a fresh visual identity that engaged a loyal, genre-specific audience. With such a defined community, it was essential to design pieces that felt authentic to Western culture yet adaptable across social media, merchandise, and out-of-home campaigns.

Audience insights revealed that the Western genre’s emotional pull lies in its grit, freedom, and nostalgia. I built a new logo and brand style guide that embraced rugged textures, earthy tones, and bold typography to reflect that essence. The campaign extended across posters, billboards, social graphics, and branded merch, including trucker hats, bandanas, and burlap swag bags to create a unified, immersive festival experience.
